Bicycle Suspension Development Testing Engineer

Position Overview: The Development Testing Engineer will conceive, create, develop, perform, and refine testing and experiments to support exploratory concepts and products at a development level. This role will be responsible for identifying and acquiring necessary hardware, software and equipment in addition to then using those tools to aid Design Engineers in product development. This position will be responsible for acquisition and analysis of in-field and laboratory-generated data. The Development Testing Engineer will further be expected to refine testing methods and equipment to characterize products representative of Fox SSG's market.   Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop testing and analysis techniques to facilitate design direction decisions for Design Engineers. Design and realize hardware and software tools to support development testing needs. Perform and schedule required testing both in-field and in-laboratory. Work with suppliers/partners to ensure testing equipment is kept state of the art and serves to reliably and repeatably address the needs of development testing as directed by Design Engineers.  Report on testing results and findings to Engineering Department through written reports and regularly scheduled meetings. Develop and maintain database of test performed, test results and methods. Train other departments on methodology, proper use of equipment and analysis techniques. This will require domestic and international travel. Support time-sensitive analysis needs of internal customers on a regular basis. This role will have internal and external customer-facing responsibilities and will require professional interpersonal interactions to be maintained at all times.    Requirements/ Qualifications: 5+ years of data acquisition and signal processing, preferably in a dynamic vehicle environment. 5+ years of engineering level testing and data analysis both in frequency and time domains. 5+ years of reporting test results and data summaries to a technical audience through written documentation and oral presentation. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Math required. MS preferred with focus on control systems, vibrations, DSP, Mechatronics, or other relevant discipline. Proficiency using 3D modeling software, code-based programming languages, MatLab, Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and structured databases. Experience coordinating and working with suppliers for equipment quoting, purchasing, and installations. Must be able to travel approximately 2 weeks/quarter (travel will vary seasonally), including some international travel. Suspension dynamometer experience is preferred. Machining and fabrication experience using a lathe, mill, saws, etc. is required. CNC experience is preferred but not necessary. Good communication skills both verbally and through electronic documentation. Ability to create and interpret 3D engineering models, detailed drawings, and specifications. Requisition ID : 1400
